Industrial greenhouses are used for large-scale cultivation of agricultural crops. They provide a suitable temperature regime and create the necessary climatic conditions for both cold-resistant and heat-loving plants. With their help, you can easily avoid the risks associated with cultivation in the open ground, and achieve good earnings on plant breeding.
What is grown in greenhouses
Really high-quality industrial greenhouses allow you to grow many different garden and garden crops. In the presence of reliable equipment (heating, ventilation, irrigation devices), the following plants can be cultivated:
seedlings;
vegetables – cucumbers, radishes, tomatoes, peppers;
greens – onion, parsley, lettuce, dill;
sprouts of cereals for animal feeding;
flowers;
medicinal herbs – rosemary, mint, yarrow.
Many crops are profitable to grow in strictly defined seasons. In particular, flowers will give maximum profit before some dates and holidays – September 1, March 8, etc. Seedlings are in demand in early spring.
Features of the arrangement of beds
The internal arrangement of an industrial greenhouse is determined depending on the type of plants grown. Three types of layout are used as standard:
Traditional narrow beds – provide for the construction of paths necessary for the movement of people and agricultural machinery. They are used for planting tomatoes, cucumbers, flowers.
Multi–tiered beds – assume the placement of plants in several tiers, including on racks, and the crops are planted in such a way that the upper ones do not block the light of the lower ones. This layout allows efficient use of the interior space and is often used for growing strawberries or seedlings.
Hydroponics – ensures the growth and development of garden crops without the use of soil. Plants are grown in nutrient solutions or porous materials, and useful substances are supplied together with irrigation. Such a system belongs to expensive layouts, since it requires the use of hydroponic equipment – power systems, air heaters, fine water supply, etc.
Each plant is suitable for its own method of cultivation. The layout should be selected taking into account the size of the greenhouse, the functions of the equipment, the planned budget. If you correctly approach the choice of garden crops and the arrangement of beds, this will ensure a good harvest and will allow you to receive a high income.
