In 2024, the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Rosselkhoztsentr” in Krasnoyarsk Krai tested new types of crops: zemklunika (a hybrid between garden strawberries and muscat strawberries) variety Kupchikha and garden strawberries varieties Nashe Podmoskovye and Tsaritsa.
The production of planting material was taken up by individual entrepreneur Muratov S.V. in the territory of Nizhneingashsky District, having purchased basic planting material of zemklunika and certified material – strawberries. In Krasnoyarsk Krai, planting material of a berry beloved by many residents of the region has not previously been certified.
The varietal and planting qualities of berry crops were assessed by Linova N.A., head of the Kansk interdistrict department of the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Rosselkhoztsentr” in Krasnoyarsk Krai.
For laying mother plantings, only healthy planting material purchased from the originator of the variety – Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution Federal Scientific Center of Gardening was used. The planting area of the Kupchikha variety of strawberries was 0.0084 hectares; the area of the mother plot of the garden strawberry variety Nashe Podmoskovye is 0.015 hectares, Tsaritsa – 0.15 hectares. Of the varieties presented, only Kupchikha is a zoned variety for the East Siberian region. When testing planting material of fruit, berry crops and grapes, the authenticity of the pomological variety is established by individual inspection and assessment of the condition of the plants in terms of yield, growth strength, infection with diseases and pest infestation and determining the possibility of using mother plantings and planting material for propagation purposes. Testing is carried out during periods of time when pomological, vegetative and generative traits characteristic of the species and (or) genus of an agricultural plant are expressed. In this case, when testing strawberries, the following is taken into account: the shape of the berries, the habit of the plant, the structure of the leaves, the formation of “whiskers” (many or few), the location of the peduncles (at the same level as the leaves, below/above the level of the leaves).
In all the surveyed areas, the varietal qualities of the mother plantings of wild strawberries and wild strawberries were confirmed.
In the greenhouse of Sergei Vladimirovich, the specialist of the Rosselkhoztsentr N.A. Linova checked the quality of the planting material of strawberry whiskers rooted in cassettes.
The planting material is assessed based on the following indicators:
– appearance;
– root system;
– horn thickness;
– aboveground part;
– infection with the virus of strawberry rugosity, strawberry mottle, thale cress mosaic, raspberry ring spot, tomato black ring, latent strawberry ring spot, strawberry petal greening phytoplasma;
– anthracnose, bacterial angular spot;
– strawberry mite, nematodes (stem, chrysanthemum, strawberry and northern gall);
– late blight of horns and verticillium wilt;
– leaf spot and powdery mildew. All plants are healthy and have a marketable appearance.
Strawberry planting material meets the requirements of GOST R 53135-2008.
