In a significant move, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has greenlit the acquisition of the “Greenhouse” complex in the Belgorod region by “TTR Holding,” a subsidiary of the “Rost” group, one of Russia’s leading vegetable producers. With 74.99% ownership held by “Sigma Capital,” a company belonging to Arkadiy Abramovich, this acquisition underscores a strategic shift in the country’s agricultural sector.
Situated on a sprawling 25-hectare expanse in the Belgorod region, the “Greenhouse” complex has been operational since 2018, representing a substantial investment of 5.2 billion rubles. Initially conceived by Arkadiy Abramovich in 2016, the ambitious project aimed to establish one of the largest greenhouse complexes in Russia, with plans extending to the Far East for the cultivation of tomatoes, cucumbers, and bell peppers. However, in 2019, the project faced setbacks due to the high costs associated with upgrading the energy infrastructure, leading to its abandonment.
Despite this setback, the acquisition by “TTR Holding” signals renewed momentum for the “Greenhouse” complex, positioning it as a cornerstone of Russia’s agricultural development. The involvement of established entities like “Rost” and the strategic vision of Arkadiy Abramovich underscore the potential for transformative growth in the nation’s vegetable production sector.
The acquisition of the “Greenhouse” complex heralds a new era for Russian agriculture, marked by strategic investments and innovative approaches to meet the nation’s growing food demands. With “TTR Holding” at the helm, supported by the expertise of the “Rost” group and the vision of Arkadiy Abramovich, the stage is set for a resurgence in vegetable production, fostering economic development and food security in the region.
