An investment agreement was signed between the Dobrograd-1 Special Economic Zone and Dobrograd Agro LLC. A new resident of the SEZ will be a high-tech year-round agricultural complex for the production of food and vegetable crops. The amount of investments in the construction of the agricultural complex will amount to 227 million rubles. The opening of the enterprise is scheduled for the 3rd quarter of 2023.
It is planned to grow several dozen types of vegetables, herbs and berries here. Some of them are well known on the Russian market, but in the future, new, unusual products will be grown, for example, broccolini, a vegetable of the cabbage family that contains a large amount of nutrients and vitamins, which was bred in Japan. Salad products will be represented by Romano, kale, chard, arugula, pak choi, spinach, red sorrel, root lettuce, mizuna, basil. Dobrograd Agro will also grow strawberries.
The production program of the enterprise will allow to harvest annually 19.2 tons of lettuce and greens, 6.2 tons of strawberries and 72 tons of broccolini.
At the first stage, the products manufactured by Dobrograd Agro LLC will meet the needs of the city. Now about 1,000 people live in Dobrograd, there are 2 restaurants, a park hotel, and another hotel will be launched before the end of the year. A subscription system is provided for deliveries to retail customers. Within the framework of this program, fresh products of the enterprise will be delivered to residents 2 times a week. With the growth of production volumes, it is planned to enter foreign markets and cooperate with chain retailers, who, when forming the assortment, focus on the quality and environmental friendliness of products.
