The third stage of one of the largest greenhouse complexes in Central Russia is planned to be built in 2023 in the Tula region, which will allow the ECO-Culture holding to increase the production of vegetables in greenhouses. The amount of investment in the project will be about 12 billion rubles, the press service of the regional government said on Thursday.
“The third stage of a year-round greenhouse complex for the production of vegetable crops in protected ground with an intelligent supplementary lighting system will be built in the Tula region. Investments in the project will amount to about 12 billion rubles, 500 jobs will be created,” the report says.
The project is scheduled to be completed in 2023. The agreement on its implementation on Thursday at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) was signed by Governor Alexei Dyumin and CEO of the Tulsky greenhouse complex Igor Antonov. “The implementation of the investment project will increase the production of vegetables in greenhouses, will help saturate the Russian market with domestic products. The government of the Tula region is ready to continue to provide the ECO-Culture holding with comprehensive assistance in working on the territory of our region,” the press service quoted Dyumin as saying. .
As reported, the construction of the first stage of a greenhouse complex designed for year-round growing vegetables, with investments of over 7 billion rubles, was completed in the Tula region at the beginning of 2020. After the commissioning of the third stage, it is planned to produce about 300 tons of lettuce, 37 thousand tons of cucumbers, 26.5 thousand tons of tomatoes.
The greenhouse complex “Tulsky” is part of the agro-industrial holding “Eco-culture”, which is one of the largest producers and suppliers of greenhouse vegetables in the Russian Federation. The company has created greenhouse complexes in the Stavropol Territory, Lipetsk and Leningrad Regions.
