According to the press service of the head of Komi, LLC “Hydroponics” in Vorkuta has been growing useful greens in a hydroponic way for 5 years, that is, without soil. Every year the company produces several tons of greens, including lettuce, sorrel, arugula, basil, mint, lemon balm.
Thanks to the work of the enterprise, residents of Vorkuta are provided with fresh greenery all year round. After all, in summer, fresh greens are practically absent in stores due to the loss of their marketable qualities when delivered in hot wagons, the press release notes.
In 2021, the company won a grant – the money went to purchase equipment, which expanded production volumes and assortment.
The company plans to increase the volume of products with the expansion of sales markets. Negotiations are underway with potential customers. The first deputy chairman of the Komi government, Elmira Akhmeeva, instructed the regional Ministry of Economic Development to assist Hydroponics LLC in this matter.
