Magnit, greenhouse business, agriculture industry, Krasnodar region, Belgorod region, vegetable production, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, pepper, modern technologies, sustainability

In 2022, Magnit’s greenhouse business in Kuban achieved a record-breaking revenue of 8.8 billion rubles, marking its best performance since its establishment in 2011. According to the company’s report, the revenue increased by 7.4% compared to 2021, with a net profit growth of 11.7%. The Green Line, Magnit’s first own-production greenhouse complex, is the largest vegetable production enterprise in the Krasnodar region. In 2022, Magnit’s agricultural production in the Krasnodar region and its newly acquired greenhouse complex in the Belgorod region focused on cherry tomatoes, increasing their production volume by 30%. The company also started cultivating new cucumber and pepper varieties. Magnit remains the leading retail chain in Russia, owning both food and agricultural production facilities.

Magnit’s success story in the greenhouse business highlights the potential of the agriculture industry in Russia. The increasing demand for fresh and locally sourced produce presents an opportunity for farmers, agronomists, agricultural engineers, and farm owners to tap into this market. The use of modern technologies and sustainable practices in farming can improve productivity, reduce costs, and increase revenue. As the agriculture industry continues to grow, it is important to prioritize innovation and sustainability to ensure long-term success.
