By the end of the year, greenhouses with a total area of 220 hectares will be built in the region.
The Moscow region, which has already become one of the top leaders in the production of vegetables and berries in greenhouses and on open ground, continues to increase momentum. Over the past 8 years, 170 hectares of new greenhouses have been built in the region, and by the end of the year, the area occupied by greenhouse complexes will increase to 220 hectares. The Moscow region is also actively growing with new vegetable stores. This was reported by the press service of the government of the Moscow region.
“Thanks to the federal program and regional support, we have built a large number of greenhouses in recent years. And we are harvesting a huge crop – we will have 220 hectares by the end of the year <…> And I really hope that all the most advanced that is used, including in greenhouses, will be sold on our territory, ”the regional Government Governor of the Moscow Region Andrey Vorobyov.
The head of the region noted that now the Lipetsk region is in the first place in harvesting from greenhouses in the country, where they hope to harvest in greenhouses on an area of 270 hectares. An equally important area for the Moscow region, according to the governor, is vegetable growing in open ground.
“Our leader is Dmitrovsky Vegetables. We had a conversation with the farmers before the sowing campaign, and now we are closely watching how the volumes are increasing. Plus 10% this year we have to harvest,” he explained.
One of the main tasks facing the farmers of the region, the head of the Moscow region calls the construction of vegetable stores – for 2022-2024, 17 investment projects are planned in the Moscow region, which will increase the volume of vegetable stores by 30%. “As we understand, in order to preserve the harvest and have the so-called borsch set at the end of winter and the beginning of spring, there must be modern vegetable stores. We have such a subsidy program,” Andrey Vorobyov emphasized.
Earlier it was reported that thanks to the construction of greenhouses over the past eight years, the production of greenhouse vegetables in the region has increased more than 10 times. This allowed the Moscow region this year to rise to the second step in the ranking among the regions of the Russian Federation in the production of greenhouse vegetables.
In addition, the Moscow Region became the first among the regions of the Central Federal District of the Russian Federation in the production of vegetables in the open ground – among all the subjects of the country, the region became the sixth in this indicator, as well as the second in the Central Federal District in terms of milk production and seventh in the production of livestock and poultry.
